Q:   Do you provide hosting services for the websites and applications you build?
A:   Yes. We have found that most of our customers find comfort in the idea of treating us as a one-stop shop for website development and hosting services. We partner with nationally-recognized hosting companies with proven records of excellent service and reliability. Statistically, we provide hosting for more than half of our development clients.

Q:   Does a customer have to purchase hosting services through Dever Goodwin, LLC when purchasing a website or web application?
A:   Not at all. We will work with any hosting company whom our client prefers, given that the technologies required to provide the requested services are offered by the host.

Q:   What do you do to protect client sites and databases from being hacked?
A:   In our own internal efforts to find the best hosting partners in the country, we list security at the top of our list of priorities. We partner only with nationally-recognized, professional hosts and data center managers who utilize the latest systems for electrical, data, and hardware backup, report and manage reliability with metrics, and have an established history of excellent security, high reliability, and rapid response to system threats and production outages.

Examples of measures/technologies employed to protect data in our applications include:

* Username/password access to the administrative interface of the application accessing sensitive data.

* Encryption of credit card numbers, expiration dates, and any bank account-related data inside the database.

* SSL communication for any public web page accessing/requesting credit card or bank account-related data.

Q:   What do you do to ensure maximum reliability/uptime for client sites and applications?
A:   Reliability is a critical part of any successful website. We partner only with nationally-recognized, professional hosts and data center managers who utilize the latest systems for electrical, data, and hardware backup, and report and manage reliability with metrics.

That being said, we find that variances in reliability across reputable hosting providers are generally smaller than variances in the speed and quality of responses to downtime issues. That is, hosting companies differentiate themselves from their competition by maintaining good, open and honest communication with their customers when downtime occurs, and by responding as quickly as possible to restore servers, data, or service to production levels. We partner with those that do so the best.
